Our Neighborhood Ethos

We built AdoraStay because we believe in the power of community. Our vision is a world where fulfilling your daily requirements is as easy as walking next door. But a sharing economy only works if it is built on a foundation of radical trust, moral ethics, and mutual respect.

The AdoraStay Code of Ethics

1. Treat It Like Your Own

Whether you are renting a 2BHK flat or borrowing a neighbor's power drill, treat that property with the utmost care. Return items in the exact condition you received them. Leave spaces cleaner than you found them. Empathy is our baseline.

2. Communicate with Kindness

Delays happen. Accidents happen. If you are running late to return an item, or if something accidentally breaks, communicate immediately and honestly. A quick, polite message solves 99% of community issues.

Connecting Safely: Best Practices

While we strive to verify our users, your personal safety is paramount. When exchanging items or touring properties, please follow these community-tested safety rules:

  • Meet in Public (For Items): When handing over or returning everyday items, agree to meet in well-lit, public spaces like coffee shops, building lobbies, or community parks during daylight hours.
  • Bring a Friend (For Properties): When touring a new PG, flat, or commercial space, try to bring a friend or family member with you. At the very least, share your live location with someone you trust.
  • Keep Payments on Platform: For item rentals, always use the AdoraStay payment and wallet system. If a user asks you to pay them directly in cash to "avoid fees," please report them. On-platform payments ensure you are protected by our dispute resolution team.
  • Inspect Thoroughly: Always take a quick photo or video of an item or property before you accept it. This protects both the Lender and the Borrower if a dispute over damages arises later.

Zero Tolerance Policy

To protect the integrity of our community, AdoraStay maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for the following behaviors. Violating these will result in an immediate, permanent ban:

  • Discrimination: Rejecting a tenant or borrower based on their religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, or marital status.
  • Theft & Fraud: Failing to return borrowed items, intentionally damaging property, or creating fake listings.
  • Harassment: Any form of verbal abuse, inappropriate messaging, or stalking of other community members.

Why This Matters

When we share, everybody wins. A student gets to read a textbook for a fraction of the cost. A family finds a safe home without paying massive brokerage fees. A neighbor earns extra income from a camera sitting in their drawer.

By adhering to these guidelines, you aren't just following rules—you are actively participating in a more sustainable, connected, and deeply human way of living. Thank you for helping us build AdoraStay.
